Getting started, keeping going, getting started again – in art and in life, it seems to me this is the essential rhythm not only of achievement but of survival, the ground of convinced action, the basis of self-esteem and the guarantee of credibility in your lives, credibility to yourself as well as others.” Séamus Heaney, 1966 to a graduation class.

This has been another extraordinary year for Yoga Dublin and our community of teachers and clients. It's just not a great way to end up the year by closing earlier, shifting online for many classes and seeing less humans generally.

I am proud that we held out reopening this summer and paid a price, but contributed to the safety and recovery of our society. We brought in Covid cert or immunity proof requirements to come in studio ahead of others, and the science has shown that this is the path to take, for indoor events in the medium term.

Thinking of the safety of others has been the credibility foundation stone of the last 20 months for Yoga Dublin.

This quote above came from Nesrine Malik in The Guardian this week and it sums up my year anyhow: '...acknowledge the fatigue and make allowances for it – to view it not as a catalyst or a moral failure, but as a place from which to make a recovery.' The days are getting longer again, have a wonderful break from screens, media, hysteria and get out into nature - see you all in '22. Colm
